Raymond Rath, Managing Director from Globalview Advisors, presented on “MTS and BV: Technical Issues of Joint Interest” in Sydney, Australia on September 6, 2017. Mr. Rath was also a panelist discussing Valuation Professionalism with other senior appraisers. The presentation was made at the 10th International Conference on the Valuation of Plant, Machinery and Equipment (“ICVPME”). The ICVPME was formed to bring together leading academic and professional expertise in the valuation of plant and machinery as a global effort to enhance valuation quality around the world. The ICVPME holds bi-annual conferences covering a variety of fixed asset valuation topics of interest.
Mr. Rath’s presentation covered business valuation related topics and recent developments of interest to fixed asset appraisers. The audience included senior fixed asset valuers from across the globe. The presentation included an overview of the Income Approach to valuation, discussion on the measurement of functional obsolescence in fixed assets and capital budgeting considerations associated with potential fixed asset related investments.
Mr. Rath also participated in a panel discussion regarding Valuation Professionalism and the current status of the valuation profession. The discussion noted recent development in the U.S. including the recent Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations designation, appraisal licensing requirements in the U.S. and other topics.
