Globalview Advisors sponsored the 2017 Golf for Autism Charity Tournament for the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (FACCOC), in partnership with The Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, a nonprofit organization. The golf tournament featured Celebrity Golfer and Laker Legend, Byron Scott, at the very prestigious and world renowned Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Beach.

Golf and Autism goes hand-in-hand. Just ask Donald Triplett, born in 1933 in Forest, Mississippi, who was referred to as “Case 1, Donald T,” the first diagnosed autism case. Mr. Triplett’s passion for the game of golf at age 84 remains a significant part of his daily life today! Social skills are often the challenge for children with autism. Through the sport of golf, it has paved the way for children and their families to come together to participate where they can understand, learn and grow.

The objective for the 2017 FACCOC Charity Golf Tournament is to help bridge the gap between a child with Autism and their families through the sport of golf. Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, on behalf of its members, sponsors and Board of Directors, is in its second year supporting The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders in facilitating this journey for those in need.

FACCOC is a nonprofit organization that has been in existence since 1994, and is dedicated not only to the Filipino-American community, but also to business professionals seeking opportunities through networking and the building of relationships through camaraderie and commerce.
